Singing spans the generations

Stewkley singers are a friendly choir group of about 50 singers aged between 11 and 86.  The group regularly meets and rehearses at the Stewkley Methodist Hall in the village and combines different people from a variety of professions, including grandparents, parents, teenagers and young school children, all brought together with a common interest - the love of music.

The singers perform on Q-build in a tiered format to raise the choir at the back and provide the singers with stepped levels.  Stored at the village school, St Michaels C of E, the Q-build stage is shared between the singers and the school, and combining the school's existing Q-build, all the staging is regularly used in a variety of formats in the school, the village hall and neighbouring village church, to span choir pews.

Funded through a local grant Q-build staging and tiering provides Stewkley Singers with a versatile platform on which to perform. The next performances are already planned, with Christmas and Spring concerts and plenty of gatherings and rehearsals in between.
